So a couple weeks ago my wife and I took our niece Naxheily to a local park district lagoon to try out the new cane pole I bought her (to add on to her Dora the Explorer spincaster combo). We were out to target blue gills but the carp were unable to avoid the double maggots on a size 14 hook under a pencil bobber. After a few dozen bluegills and a couple fingerling bass my niece started pulling up palm size and smaller carp so quickly that I do not think that she knows what a motionless bobber looks like.

Anyway as I was grabbing a couple spikes to throw out as an attractant, I heard my wife say “ooo that fish is really pretty Naxheily”, I turned around knowing that the fish must be different from the other but expecting a pumpkinseed or maybe a crappie, but there in her hand was this beautiful little linear mirror. Keep in mind when looking at the pictures that that is her little hand that carp is in.

She wants to go back as soon as possible and keep catching her new fish friends as they (and she) get bigger.
