In 6 days the Bridgeport Bakery a tiny one room bakery across the street from my apartment will become ground zero for every polish person (and their well wishers) looking to score on of the best paczkis in the city. For those of you not in the know paczkis is the traditional pre lent treat devoured on fat tuesday, an airy doughnut like pastry that can be filled with dozens (i think BB has about 30 different flavors) of ingredients such as fruit and custard. On the 16th from 4am till closing there will be long lines (I waited an hour last year) to buy anywhere from 1 to as many dozen as you can carry.
